Setting foot on the land of my hometown again and participating in the Spring Breeze School Sponsorship Activity, my heart is full of warmth and emotion. This activity is like a timely rain, moisturizing the hearts of those poor students who are eager for knowledge.
At the beginning of the activity, we divided into several groups and went into every corner of our hometown to visit the families of poor students. Every time we walked into a house, we could not help but feel the ripples in our hearts when we saw the simple living environment and the children’s eager eyes. In one home, the walls were mottled, the furniture was shabby, and the children’s desks were full of books. Although the paper was yellowed, each page was filled with dense notes. During the communication with the parents, we learned that they had a hard life, but never gave up the belief of letting their children receive education. This strengthened our determination to carry out school sponsorship activities.
After in-depth visits, we determined the list of students to be sponsored. Immediately after that, there was the much-anticipated scholarship distribution ceremony. At the ceremony, the children’s faces were a little shy and nervous, but more of them were looking forward to the future. Caring people from the Chamber delivered the scholarships to the children one by one with concern and words of encouragement. At that moment, I saw love and hope being passed on. A caring person took the children’s hands and said, “Children, study hard, the road ahead is still long, knowledge changes destiny.” The children held the bursary tightly, with tears in their eyes, and said they would study hard and live up to everyone’s expectations.
The process of charity is not always easy. From the preliminary research and visit, to the fund-raising, to the preparation of the ceremony, every step of the process has condensed everyone’s efforts. However, seeing that the children can continue to pursue their dreams because of our efforts makes all the efforts worthwhile.
The Spring Breeze Scholarship Activity is not only a material subsidy, but also a spiritual inspiration. It allows poor students to feel the love and care of the society and helps them to realize their dreams. And we, as participants, also harvested a full of touching and growth in the process. We hope that there will be more such activities in the future, so that the spring breeze of charity will blow to every corner of our hometown, and more children will grow up under the sunshine of love and realize the value of their lives.
